Interests:I enjoy long walks on the beach, moonlight dacing to slow jams and fireside chats. Brisk bicycling through forrest is also one of my past times. To show my excessive manlyness, I occasionally spend time turning wrenches on my barbaric 4x4. There are many that love to stare aimlessly into my exquisite arm hair. That sums up my wonderfull existance

QUOTE(rajincajintj @ Aug 22 2006, 08:33 AM) what are you going to do for your frame side mounts? 1/4" plate... cut, box, and weld. Axle mounts are already on the front. Just have to make a truss for the uppers in the rear. It'll look just like the Clayton one. Lower mounts for the rear will be cut off my current 8.8. May be able to use the upper rear axle CA mounts for frame mounts. Haven't peeped it that close yet since my tube is sitting in Thibodaux. Edit: Frame mounts made from 2"x4" square tube 3/16's with one side of the tube cut off so its U shaped. Then I cut tabs that fit in the tube and welded em in. I notched the tube where the arm comes out just like the clayton frame brackets.

I needed to occupy my mind Friday, so I got to work on putting stuff together.... I cut the truss and tacked it together (2.5" square tube 0.25" thick). Going to need a real welder to put the final bead on. Cut and tacked my first arm... lower rear. Thats an RE Rubber bushing sleeve on the left end (will be the frame end) and a 2.5" JJ with a 1.25" cast in threaded shank. The tube is square and measures 2 x 2 x 0.25. I got the 1.25"-12 nut that I tacked to the end of the tube from http://www.mcmaster.com and the jamb nuts came with the JJs.

So is the nut just butt welded to the square tubing and the JJ threaded into the nut?
Why square tubing? Mucho cheaper than DOM?
