I will try to keep all of the important info for the trailer buy in this topic...

As of 14 Feb 2007 the following people are getting trailers.

Trailer #1 Todd Hubbell (me)
Trailer #2 Xanatost
Trailer #3 Scott Mitchell (from Dallas)
Trailer #4 Dr. K (Scotts friend from Dallas)
Trailer #5 safetydave70754
Trailer #6 ? (you know you want this one)

If you are interested post up..... The trailers should arrive around Feb 22 or 23 ish !!

6 Trailers will be arriveing in Lafayette, Thanks to Xanatost (Rodney) for providing a forklift/storage area.

This will incude:
Trailer (frame, axle, body, spings...)
spare tire
bill of sale

Trailer registration in Louisiana: ....See post #30 below.....

I just finished talking to DMV and LA State Police. Once you get your trailer (and bill of Sale) contact you local State Police Troop and have them inspect the trailer. They will give you some paperwork that you bring to DMV. Pay your DMV fees and then place the plate on your trailer.

That’s it.

Todd H

After talking to people who have received the trailers in the past... It should take about 10 minutes to put the trailers together. (Just the "A" arm of the frame is knocked-down for shipping and wheels are removed

Photos can be seen in "This forum" If you can't see the photos let me know... or try http://smg.photobuck...eep/CDN%20M101/

let me know if you have any questions......

Look at the post below for more info....

Thanks

How much are looking at with price and shipping? Do they come with a title (or whatever is needed to put a Louisiana plate on 'em)?

Price for the trailer is 675. The shipping we wont know till we have a finial count of who is getting one. The more that gets them the cheaper it will be biggrin.gif We will see if Danial (YankeeYJ) is up that way and see if he could pick them up. Might save us on some of the shipping as well. I might have another guy here at work that might want to get one. If we can waite till early Jan to place the order that would help him out a good bit to.

The trailer will come with a "bill of sale" This should be enough to register them here in LA.

They will be shipped in from NJ. I do have contact info for the seller if anyone want's it let me know

Todd

Another good source for info in this trailer.....

http://autos.groups..../group/M101CDN/

Todd

Just in.... if we get 6 buyers the price will be $650... Yea.. I know not a big difference but we are talking about money here.. (of course + shipping.)

Remember price inculdes (trailer, tires and spare, and lights)

Justifications for a “Jeep” trailer

You need more space when traveling in you jeep but do not need a “large” trailer.

You need a place to haul dirt, leaves, wood, bikes, kid’s toys, BBQ pits, cement, building materials, and tools….etc.

You plan to bring the kids camping in a year or so and would need the extra room for Ice chest, tents, fishing polls, and other gear.

You can fill the trailer with Ice and “drinks” for Mardi gras and have a rolling party.

You can fill the trailer with water and have a rolling “Hot-tub”.

You can haul a Christmas tree with the trailer and not worry about the needles on the floorboard.

The trailer takes up less room than a truck.

Lower insurance cost on a trailer than a truck.

You need a side project to stay out of the wife’s way.

You would rather spend $850 (or so) on a trailer than buy a $30,000 truck.

You need it to move flowers and other items for the wife’s flower bed.

The kids can have a rolling toy box when going to the beach.

You can bring the beach back home for the kids. (And not have it in your house.)

Besides a few of us you will have a very unique trailer that can haul a lot and still go off-road with you.

Cool, I'll check with my boss (wife) and see what we can work out.... safetydave said we can use his 16 ft tandom trailer. What size truck do you have?

Todd H

My brother has a full size chevy. I think I can get a 16" tractor trailer to. I will have to ask my gf, sisters bf. I dont think that it would be a problem for just one day use. Hit me up wednesday and ill give you the info.

Such is life...... After a phone call and a lot of reading numbers from manuals I realized that they guy in College station quoted me on the wrong item. He was thinking of 3/4 ton trailers.

So... The final price is back around $850 ish... pending shipping. with my original vender.

Now that I have totally confused everyone, I will be ording next week.

I just called again... they do have M101cdn BUT they are 3/4 ton. The CDN military named their 1/4 and 3/4 ton trailers with the same numbers... (I don't know why).

I called BMJP today and was told they were 3/4 ton. he said they weighed 4-500lbs and the boxes were about the size of a longbed pickemup truck box. but when I searched online for more specs they said they weighed in the 1200 lb range. I guess I'll error on the side of caution and reason and pas on his trailers. bummer, I was hoping for a @ $500 1/4 ton trailer close to me. scubajeep, what price am I looking at and delivered to where. I'm in Corpus Christi, TX. just need to know what to factor in for my trip to pick them up and to see if I want to get in on this buy or wait it out for one a little closer to home (if thats even possible). Thanks.

I think I may be both of the Scott's you have down (emailed and PM'd on JU) I found militarytires off of ebay that could get me one for $900 delivered to Corpus. the link to their ebay auctions was in the trailer forum on JU. I think I'll have to sit this deal out unless it gets cheap enough to offset the fuel and possibly my time.

Why are you thinking about shipping them to Dallas? ask Todd O what he can do to Corpus. I'll get in on your deal if he can beat $895 shipped to Corpus (what Michele Knautz quoted me on just one trailer) We have a truckyard with a forklift and a loading ramp down here in Corpus. not sure if its any farther for you guys to travel, but they could possibly be shipped down here, I unload them then you can come get them anytime (as long as I don't have to store them for longer than a week or two). they can even stay crated and I can load them on your trailers to take back home.

Trailer registration in Louisiana:

I just finished talking to DMV and LA State Police. Once you get your trailer (and bill of Sale) contact you local State Police Troop and have them inspect the trailer. They will give you some paperwork that you bring to DMV. Pay your DMV fees and then place the plate on your trailer.

That’s it. If you have any specific concers let me know.

Thought so ... Might save you some $$$ by not having to get a license plate.
